BEACH HOUSE
A RARE GEM OF A MODERN HOUSE FACING THE STRAIT OF GEORGIA ON TSAWWASSEN BEACH
This beautiful property had everyone at DEKORA loving it, and you can see why. Low-bank oceanfront on a private beach road, forever views across to the southern Gulf Islands – it doesn’t get much better. And then there’s the house! Originally built in 1991 and designed by architect Randy Shier, the home has recently been given a total renovation and is now virtually new again. Very minimal in aesthetic and yet exuding warmth, this house is unique and wonderful. A vast double-height great room with a full wall of windows facing the ocean is warmed by colour and texture thanks to a spectacular open-beamed ceiling in fir and cedar, and natural slate floors underfoot.
In styling this home, we wanted to stay right in synch with that feeling of cool restraint coupled with textural warmth. A pale neutral palette of furniture and décor selections including driftwood finishes gives the home an elegant, relaxed beach-house vibe.
