Barbara Rae [
] is a well-known BC business figure having held high-profile
positions including CEO of Adia Canada Ltd. (now ADECCO,
NYSE: ADO) and Chancellor of Simon Fraser University.
Her many laurels include the Order of Canada, the Order
of B.C., Queen's Jubilee Medal, BC Entrepreneur of the
Year and corporate directorships at Xerox, CIBC, Telus,
Noranda and Grosvenor International Holdings Limited.
Barbara is a long-time resident of West Vancouver, British
Columbia.
Sandy Arthur [
] has a long and varied background in design and the
visual arts. Sandy has over twenty five years experience
in set decorating for the film and television industry
working with production companies such as Disney, Paramount
and 20th Century Fox. A past director of The Vancouver
Design Team, Sandy is a recognized Canadian Artist and
currently lives on Bowen Island, British Columbia.
Ron Sowden [
] is a veteran of the British Columbia film industry
with fifteen years experience in set decorating. Ron
has held senior crew positions on major productions
for Disney, 20th Century Fox, Universal, Columbia, Paramount
and many independent producers. One of the founding
instructors of Set Decorating at Capilano College's
Professional Film Studies program, Ron is an Arts graduate
of UBC, with a post-graduate diploma in marketing. Ron
lives in West Vancouver, British Columbia.
John Carter [
] brings over a decade of experience in entrepreneurship,
marketing and management consulting in both Canada and
the US. John has founded several successful companies
including Newbrook Services, Inc., a commercial real
estate maintenance & management company, and HotLogic
Software, a consulting and software development firm.
He has also held marketing and consulting roles with
HigherMarkets, Inc. and SciQuest, Inc. in San Francisco.
John is a graduate of the University of Victoria and
resides in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Matt Vanderwerff [
] has been involved in various aspects of the design
industry for over 20 years. After studying Design at
Sheridan College and George Brown College, Matt produced
and marketed his own whimsical furniture line across
Canada and the US. His major commissions include the
Chateau Whistler, Four Seasons Hotel in New York City
and the Chalmers' residence Toronto. Matt's residential
interior experience encompasses projects in Toronto,
Calgary and Vancouver. Matt lives in Vancouver, British
Columbia.
Tracey Mills [
] brings over twenty years of experience to DEKORA both
in the field of fashion and interior design. Prior to
joining DEKORA, she served as a Regional Supervisor
with Mondi and most recently as the Principal of Tracey
Mills Design. In these roles Tracey was responsible
for leading a wide range of projects from concept to
implementation. She is an honours graduate of the BCIT
Interior Design Program and lives in Vancouver, British
Columbia.
